Draft Amendments to the Constitution of Georgia, that aim to reflect recommendations made by the Venice Commissions, have been registered at the Bureau:
- Constitutional grounds for restriction of Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Conscience to be specified, and the phrases 'State Security', 'Crime prevention' 'Execution of Justice' to be removed.
- Removal of the so called 'Bonus system'
- Time limits for the consideration of an applicable lawsuit on the matter of Unconstitutional Elections or Unconstitutional Election norms, to be increased by 3 months. Provision, according to which the Constitutional Court defines the constitutionality of the Elections based on the full consensus of the list composition, is to be removed.
- Apart for the political parties, political blocs will be allowed to participate in the next Parliamentary Elections.
- Term 'Khmosani' to be replaced by the term 'Member of the Electoral Board'
